Fungal nail treatment (sorry!)

I have a couple of dodgy toe nails, where the affected area runs the width of the base of the nail.

Boots recommended a treatment to me (can’t remember which one now) but when I got it home it was only for use where the infection is at the outer edge.

Any recommendations for products? I’ve only suffered from this since increasing my running so thought I’d ask in Exercise.

I'd speak to a pharmacist as the condition sounds quite embedded and may need something strong. But for longer term control of fungal infection I find tea tree oil applied neat every day has stopped it completely from reappearing. Doesn't work for everyone but may be worth a try.

When I had this the first question the GP asked me was whether I was exercising as ill fitting trainers can cause trauma to the nail bed. Try protecting those nails and wear different trainers during exercise and see if it grows out.
