For me, a combination of another birthday looming combined with weight gain.

Used to be very slim with no effort (I know) but when I reached age 40+, combined with WFH has made me go from a size 10 to 14.

Am at the start, very new to running but not hating it. Also hoping I don't kill my knees, all feedback greatly accepted 😄

Do you have an Apple Watch/iPhone? The fitness videos on Apple Fitness+ are excellent and has suggested ones for runners. Including balance/single leg focus is important when using weights as it helps avoid running injuries.

I started to be supportive to a friend who was training for a big race - tried a parkrun and was totally hooked. Definitely check out your local parkruns they’re really good fun.

You might not feel like a runner, but you are one!

I'm abroad and lockdown for us meant no going out, not even for exercise. It was tough . At the end of it I just wanted to RUN. So I did. Sadly have now stopped as I have problems with my hips but I do love it.
