Leggings for running that are soft on the tummy?

I'm getting back into running more again, but need new leggings and specifically wanted some fun ones for a Christmas race as well as some every day ones. I'm skinny legged but with a bit of a belly that strongly objects to being squished hard.

I've tried Lucy Locket - which fit fine on the legs, but hurt my tummy.

My decathlon leggings tend to ride down below my belly and they arent fun anyway.

My Ronhill shorts fit well but they dont do fun and shorts don't fit the same as leggings..

Any ideas please?

Lululemon align. So comfy and stretchy on the stomach- I was able to wear them whilst pregnant even though they’re not maternity wear!

Thank you Floundering that sounds like a great endorsement. I'll have a look!

My Tikiboos are good.

I find my pair of Lucy Lockets have the waistband a bit snug that presses in to the mum wobble and I tend to use them for workouts rather than longer runs. I think they're cut for a straighter figure than mine as the pattern looks faint where they stretch on my calves. The size is overall about right, just not the best for a curvy build.

I really like Natal Active on my post c-section tummy (and loved them in pregnancy. Nice, soft and wide waistband.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one having to consider this! I'll check those both out. The Lulemon Align look to be more for low impact workouts.

What is the sizing like on the Tikiboos Bog?

Have a look at Llama Leisure. They have so many lovely designs and are SO comfortable!! I have a real issue with uncomfortable clothes and things feeling tight and horrid on my tummy and these are just the best! Really inexpensive too!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/11/2022 20:45

I will do MrsBCooper I've had a real problem with leggings as a whole. Used to love sainsburys own leggings, but they changes them and now they strangle me unless I buy them so big that they flop on my legs.

I bought yoga leggings from h&m by mistake.
they might fit the bill.
the waist is wide and sort of wrapped over the belly.
no pockets though www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1099704002.html

Would they stay up for running Green! I might try them for everyday wear.

definitely tikiboo. they have christmas designs too. i’d say they’re like a better version of lucy lockets - i never found them totally comfy whereas my tikiboo stuff doesn’t fade when stretch and is cut much better.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/11/2022 21:56

I found a pair of tikiboo I love the look of and a discount code magically appeared when I started ordering them. I dithered about the size but I'm trying my usual size first. I'll feed back as to how I get on.

Hi
Also try sturdy by design. I have these and tikis I'm a size 10 but with a tummy that just can't shift I wear a small tiki and medium sturdy x

they do!
I prefer something with pockets for my keys though.

I've gone for a different approach and chosen running leggings that cover my whole belly...pretty much right up to my bra line! It's much more comfortable because all of my wobbly belly is supported rather than just the lower bit and it doesn't dig in at all.

The ones I've found best are Be Your Happy Place leggings. They have side pockets too.

If you type "vault" in the search field you might find something in your size for £15 because they're end of line stuff.

Thanks all! My tikiboos have arrived and they are pretty comfy yay! In an ideal world I might have bought both a small and a medium just to test which works best, but the small is still much better than others I've tried. Now the medium I like is not in stock, so I'm going to keep an eye on them.

I'll have a look at both of those Rosey and 1001Daffodils I cant wear christmas themed leggings all the year round!
