David Lloyd Trafford - does it feel luxurious?

I am very tempted by a three month membership but I would like to know if it does feel like a nice/luxurious gym, with nice changing rooms etc? Is anyone a member?

I used to go about 10 years ago. It didn’t feel luxurious to me at all, just heat and tidy like a the John Lewis of gyms. It felt to me you were paying for the name and for the number of sporting facilities - loads of indoor tennis courts, big pool, cafe with healthy eating options. The reason I kept going was the outdoor pool. Often I’d be the only person in it, especially in thee winter.
i prefer the Worsley Marriott as I like the hotel feel. Fewer facilities but a nice warming carpetty feel when you’ve got out of the pool. Also, the premiership teams stay there when they’re playing in Manchester so I can do a bit of celeb spotting.

I'm not at DL in Trafford - but I am at another DL. For me it's the really nice changing rooms/showers, spa area, pools and pleasant staff that makes it worth the quite eye watering fees. I'm not a big gym user - mostly classes and swimming for me so I'm not the best person to comment.

I belong to my local DL not Trafford and I agree with @damekindness. It's not super luxurious, although the gyms have different tiers. Mine is tier 3 I think. I've been to a tier 1 one and that's more luxurious than mine.

Overall I find it a very pleasant place to work out. Lots of classes throughout the day. It's not a poser's gym no-one is kitted out head to toe in Lululemon - not even at the more expensive tier 1 one. I find I'm easily motivated to attend on my own.

Again not Trafford, but our DL does feel nice. Its got a big open cafe area when you walk in, it always feels calm. The changing rooms are nice, always clean, the floor is not all covered in puddles like in the council run gym near us.

The gym doesn't smell sweaty, it's clean, lots of cleaning equipment around, lots of staff to help but not in your face. Again a big airy space that never gets too loud.

The calmness and space is worth it for me, outside life is busy.

But is it spa hotel luxury standard? No.

I used to work there! Years ago though. It’s serviceable and a good size.

It’s not Third Space/Equinox luxurious though if that’s what you’re after. Similar to Nuffield gyms I’d say.

Thank you all. What a shame, with the prices I was imagining it would be really plush and luxurious. Will get back on the hunt!

The one in cheadle is much nicer. Also luxury wise Hale country club and spa?

or there’s the fancy ones in the city centre like Blok / Hero
