Anyone switched from a Fitbit to an Apple watch?

I’m thinking of switching but the rings thing just seems really rigid and annoying. There’s no inbuilt way of setting step limits or displaying steps on the main watch face.
I haven’t worked out exactly what the active rings are supposed to mean and how they are derived. It doesn’t look like you can preset your own goals on it unlike the Fitbit where you set goals for everything,
Any advice from anyone please?

I think the active red ring shows calories over and above base rate, the green exercise ring is only triggered if you walk fast enough or do something active, when the Apple watch first came out there were lots of complaints from people walking but not getting minutes on their exercise ring as they were not walking fast enough, it needs to be quite brisk.

I didn't really get my Apple Watch for fitness more for an all rounder as you can get alerts, texts and calls on it and also use it for paying so for me the limited fitness stuff is fine. I don't think it is the best if you want a fitness watch that does a lot of different things

I have an Apple Watch and I can definitely set my own goals on it. It’s definitely a lot better than the Fitbit I used to have.
