Help with good sports bra please

Oh wise ones...
I am a rather large woman with huge boobs. I have started running (well, something akin to running, it ain't fast and it ain't pretty, but I'm getting there) and my current sports bras are cutting into the underside of each breast (such fun). Please can you recommend a sports bra, maybe a 36/38 F/G type size? Needs to be super high impact and bounce proof please.

Panache do a good one (wired and not wired)

PurpleDaisies · 12/07/2022 16:19

I bought a Runderwear easy on one recently and it’s amazingly comfortable compared to my friend and tested shock absorbers.

SexyTimeNotGenderTime · 12/07/2022 16:21

I'm still on the hunt for an excellent sports bra myself, OP.

I have a Nike DriFit one which is great but falling apart - it's years old. One thing I've learnt is that Sweaty Bettys sports bras aren't actually that great. I love their other gym clothes but they don't do well in that department for me Smile

WaveyHair · 12/07/2022 16:27

These are expensive but really good.

PrimaDonna sports bra. Not cheap but excellent.

I wear a normal sports bra and a crop top sports bra over the top cos l have never found a decent one for what l am prepared to spend.
Maybe l need to splash out and treat myself.

Panache for me, 34F

ReviewingTheSituation · 12/07/2022 17:19

I've run thousands of miles in my trusty shock absorber bras - never use anything else. I'm a DD (but usually go up a band size and down a cup size in sports bras as the same size band in a sports bra was just too restrictive).

ManxDi · 09/08/2022 11:49

Thanks folks,
I looked at Maaree - need to try them on sale prices first. Can't justify spending that amount if it's not right.
I got a Runderwear on sale (again, couldn't justify the cost if it isn't right) - can't even get it on - about 8 inches away from fastening across my back. Maybe I got one that is sized incorrectly, or they're telling me to lose weight!
Got a Panache - nope. Looked ok actually, but came back within 200 metres to change bras.
Went back to M&S and their super high impact - great for the price and does a decent job. WIll wear a crop top over it next time though, just for a little extra support.

Thanks so much for your help everyone, I am greatful.

Try the Enell ones. I had bigger boobs before looking weight, 36E/F and these clamp me down. www.boobydoo.co.uk/all-brands/enell-sports-bras

Not the most attractive and they're quite pricey but so worth it! I run every day and have 3 that I alternate. They've lasted years so worth the initial spending.

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 12/08/2022 08:40

I really like moving comfort.
not the prettiest but reasonable and they work

Indoctro · 12/08/2022 08:42

I've very large boobs and tan for years

I have tried every single bra going and the only thing that is any use for large boobs is the Enell

Unfortunately it give you a mono boob but it basically straps them down

It is without a doubt the best sports bra for large breasted woman.

Shopgirl1 · 13/08/2022 22:51

I find the shock absorber bras pretty good. I recently bought a brooks run bra, I would not recommend it though, the support is not as good as shock absorber.

Purpleavocado · 13/08/2022 23:03

This is the best style I've found to stop bounce. I'm a dd

Yes it stops the bounce, but if you run long distances in the Enell they chafe horrifically as there's no give in it whatsoever. I remember finishing one race covered in blood, which wasn't great.
I found the Panache just as supportive and far more comfortable when I was a very large cup size (these days I've shrunk so can get away with less scaffolding!)

kittykarate · 04/09/2022 09:20

Enell are good at stopping bounce but you have to be super careful in making sure the flap of fabric that protects you from the hooks is perfectly in place or you wear holes in your tits.

I wear a Freya Sonic wired for horse riding it's pretty good.

I tried a Royce one and that was comfy, but oh my lord it didn't stop bounce.

I have a mix of Freya unwired and some shock absorbers. I don't like the shock absorbers with the 2 separate hooks as I feel like I'm trying to dislocate a shoulder when I'm fastening them.

LoopyGremlin · 04/09/2022 09:30

Anita sports bras are good. I had one fitted at a local independent bra shop. It was £57.

dementedpixie · 14/09/2022 22:43

Panache ultimate underwired has been the best for my 36GGs

Bookaholic73 · 14/09/2022 22:50

I recently took up running and I’ve tried so many sports bras. This is the only one that has fitted me comfortably and I’m a DD
