Is it worth it? Even spread across a few years itll be £90 a month for the plus bike deal and membership I want.

I purchased one in Sep 2020 and it has been a lifesaver! I have 3 DC and with the best will in the world, I will not motivate myself to go to a gym. The Peloton is so easy to just jump on and go.

If you end up purchasing, I have a referral code you can use - 37Q7AV

You get a free accessory bundle (used to be shoes and weights), and I get some credit to spend on apparel 😀

Enjoy if you decide to go for it, it’s my favourites ever purchase!

I am short! I was hoping that it could be adjusted for me when set up as part of the set up service? I'm five ft 3.

I'm 5' 3 and I'm fine with the peloton bike as it is

SW1amp · 25/04/2022 15:38

This is why it completely works for me
I don’t get any time away from DC atm but I can use this whenever they are asleep so I don’t have an excuse

Even if it’s just a 15 min core or stretch or yoga, I can make some time for myself

MrOllivander · 25/04/2022 15:55

I actually get grouchy now when I don't do a class Grin itching to get on the bike tonight

Thestoppedfan · 25/04/2022 16:00

Have you done a spin class before and do you enjoy it? I looked into it a lot and very nearly got one but did a spin class and then realised I hated spin. It was very nearly an expensive mistake! I joined a group on Facebook that people use to sell them second hand- there’s loads that have only been used a couple of times and then resold for a lot less!

Hubblebubble · 25/04/2022 18:09

Thank you for the referral code @CrochetWhizz

Yes I've done spin classes before and really enjoyed them. I've set myself the task of really clearing my bedroom and shifting the bed to make space. Once that's done I'm going to go for the 30 day trial. I'm exactly one stone overweight and work from home sitting on my bum, so hopefully this is exactly what I need to get fit and healthy again.

Great news @Hubblebubble that’s exactly what I did - I assumed I’d send it back after 30 days 😆

Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

I would definitely recommend a peloton bike if you have the funds. I’ve had mine a year and love it more than ever!

Pros- convenient, so many different classes and instructors, addictive format, I’m much fitter than I was a decade ago when I couldn’t get to the gym due to lack of childcare and rural home life. I use it for cycling, strength and also the app for meditation, walking and the occasional run. I try and do something everyday- even if it’s just a 5 minute meditation.

cons- expensive, but totally worth it for me (I recognise it is a luxury that I am fortunate I can afford- but I don’t drink alcohol/ smoke/ have fancy clothes/ shoes/ handbags/ nails/ beauty habits etc, so it is my treat to myself!)

I am shorter than you and have no problems with the bike settings.

V. happy to answer any questions about the bike (I don’t work for peloton, promise! Just really enjoy it!).

If anyone else is looking for a referral code, mine is: RPRRWB It gives money off accessories for you and an apparel voucher to me.

PS @Hubblebubble do you need the bike+? Have you looked at the bike? It’s significantly cheaper and I know some people buy a device which enables you to swivel the screen like the bike+.

Hubblebubble · 26/04/2022 19:47

@notenoughchairs It wasnt actually the swivel screen that interested me about the plus, its that I read it was a lot quieter. My bedrooms next to my DS' room, so I need something that wont wake him. Is the regular bike still pretty quiet?

@Hubblebubble I have the bike+ which is incredibly quiet, so can’t comment on how quiet the bike is, sorry. However I’ve never seen this mentioned as a meaningful advantage of the bike+ on a Facebook peloton group I follow. I didn’t even know there was a difference! The noise of the shoes clipping in and out would probably be the noisiest thing and you could just leave your shoes attached to avoid this. Do you have a John Lewis with a peloton outlet near so you could visit and compare?

NightmareSlashDelightful · 26/04/2022 20:58

I have a regular bike (i.e. not the Plus) and it's fairly quiet. I've seen demos of the Plus and I hadn't clocked that it's noticeably quieter tbh.

To be honest the loudest thing will be the noises you make when the instructor tells you to push one more time for a really steep hill.

notenoughchairs · 26/04/2022 21:15

Ha ha @NightmareSlashDelightful, yes! Nothing is audible over my heavy breathing 😂

SW1amp · 27/04/2022 19:16

The bike is only as loud as you have the speakers

but you can use wired and Bluetooth headphones with it so that no one else has to hear the class

The bike is pretty much silent…
