What running leggings do you use?

I am getting back into running. Unfortunately the Nike capri running leggings I have had for 10 years Blush are starting to rip. I realised how expensive new ones are.

I'm looking for ones with a zipper pocket for my phone & a tie adjustable waist.

I would love to know which ones you use?

Thank you Daffodil

Rainbows and Sprinkles here - they’re the best ones I have. I do love a brightly coloured legging though - some people might be a bit put off by that. I have a Decathlon pair but they haven’t lasted as well as the pricier ones - they have a mesh panel on the back of the knee that has gone hard and stopped stretching, so they chafe.

I have just ordered a pair of Tikiboo shorts, I’ve heard good things about their leggings. Have high hopes for them.

Marks and Spencer

Decathlon!

PlugUgly1980 · 29/03/2022 14:00

Ronhill and DHB from Wiggle

MsMartini · 29/03/2022 14:11

I wear Sweaty Betty Powers (wait for the sales, side and back pockets), M and S Good move (whichever range has the side and back pockets, there are several ranges), and Decathlon (they are less good on pockets - you have to look carefully - but excellent quality and durability for the price and a range of thicknesses etc).

Lucy Locket Loves

Second DHB from Wiggle and Ronhill. They are my best fitting ones.

Logoplanter · 29/03/2022 18:51

Rainbow and sprinkles. Love them. They feel like butter, don't move and come in fun colourful designs that make me happy. Oh and their customer service has always been exceptional.

@Ozanj

Karrimor do the best pocket ones in my experience
Agree with this.

They aren't pretty but they tick all the boxes you need for running - zip pocket at the back and a drawstring waist. I don't actually tie them and they never slip. I wouldn't wear them for anything else but they're great for running.

Decathlon has now suspended its operations in Russia

Ronhill! They last really well. Mine do 10 years wearing then at least once a week. Decathlon are good value but not great if you're generous of hip or thigh. I need L-XL to avoid nasty ripping sounds, despite only being a 12, and then they're massive on the waist.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 04/04/2022 17:49

Karrimor or tikkiboo

Picoloangel · 04/04/2022 18:16

I’m a big fan of Goodmove (M and S) and Next. Next often have leggings in their sale section - they last really well. Used to be a Nike/Sweaty Betty fan but M and S in particular are excellent. SB are believed by yummy mummya but are vastly overpriced IMO.

DirtyDancing · 04/04/2022 20:00

If your Nike ones lasted you 10 years, then they sound like a good investment to me. If you can stretch to another pair, then I'd buy them again. They've served you well.

purplesequins · 04/04/2022 20:02

decathlon.
and get a size bigger if you can.
and get a sleeve for your phone.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 04/04/2022 20:13

Sweaty Betty without a doubt. I've been alternating the same two pairs for a couple of years now and they have not stretched at all. I have some tikiboo for dance class but they're not as good as SB

Agree with this. I've had a pair of Nike leggings for several years that just developed a tiny hole in the knee. I'm still using them but have bought some new ones for when they inevitably rip further and it was new Nike, no question about it.

I'm not often fussed about brands but my Nike running kit has always out-performed anything else, with the exception of an old H&M sports bra I wish I'd bought 10 of!

KateTheEighth · 04/04/2022 20:28

Sweaty Betty power leggings (7/8 because I'm a short arse)

They don't move at all, really comfortable

Expensive but well worth it

OrangeBananaFish · 04/04/2022 20:29

I have either Tikiboo or Sturdy by Design. Been using both for years and my Samsung phones have always fit in the pockets, but I have to take the case off my phone.

I wasn't impressed with Lucy Locket Loves. They felt cheap and not as great quality, but that was years ago now. Maybe they have got better.

mrsrobin · 04/04/2022 20:31

I am stuck on Nike - they fit me best, I like the drawstring and I have them in some really cool designs!

BobblyBlueJumper · 04/04/2022 20:38

Decathlon or Nike for me. My Nike leggings are indestructible. I have a pair I wear for OCR races and apart from a bit of bobbling they're fine. They must be a decade old now and made out of some kind of miracle fabric.

Rollergirl999 · 04/04/2022 21:30

Lululemon

Forestcantrun · 04/04/2022 23:17

Nike dri-fit I had for about 11 years general wear, they were bullet proof. I generally wear SB power or power shorts running. Goodmove are great until you get sweaty I find. Their wicking ability isn't on a par with Nike or SB

icelolly99 · 05/04/2022 09:55

NEXT do some decent running leggings and shorts; either with a side pocket or a hidden waist pocket.

EmmaStone · 05/04/2022 14:23

Another vote for SB. I've been buying their leggings (in the sales!) for years, and have yet to retire a pair. They wash and wear amazingly, they're now made with back pockets and thigh pockets, they don't move, they're made with gorgeous soft material, and they have fab designs.

Previously I'd tried Gap, Nike, Ronhill. None of them were as good as my SBs (bearing in mind this was YEARS ago, so things may well have improved for the other brands, I'm just happy sticking with SB).
