What am I doing wrong?!

I used to be a runner, not a massive amount but probably about 40km ish a week.

Then I got Covid quite badly and had 4ish months off.

When I went back, I had very low expectations and just went for a very easy jog. All fine (albeit a little sad about how much speed/endurance I'd lost!) The next day I was in some pain, again, all fine I think, just DOMs. The pain was right at the top of my inner thighs and it hurt to open or close my legs (sorry for the visual!)

I got on with it and have been back running for a few months now but every single time I get this pain the next day in the same place. Any other DOMs in more normal places (hamstrings etc) has died away.

It's really quite painful. But it does settle down after 2-3 days which makes me think it is DOMs but it's much more painful than I've ever had DOMs and it's intensity isn't changing at all. I've also didn't think you could get DOMs in what feels like a tendon/ligament?!

I've tried resting it for a few weeks and icing. I've tried running through it and it's the same result.

Anyone had anything similar or got any thoughts?

My GP wasn't very helpful as it was a video call and just prescribed some anti inflammatories.

Can you afford to see a sports physio?
