Injury & weight gain

I had a nasty accident with several broken bones & I’m now in a cast for at least 6 weeks. My surgeon told me it will be a long, slow recovery (though he’s hopeful I’ll gain full functionality back), so it’ll be a while before I’m able to exercise. Before this I was quite active, with running, cycling, swimming, didn’t have a car so walked a lot, etc. I really don’t want to gain a load of weight while I’m off with this - anyone have any tips, or experience to offer? I realise it’ll have to be 100% diet and to be sensible, though my body is also trying to recover (I needed surgery too so it’s a bit battered!). I suppose it’s not a bad thing that I’m very limited in terms of mobility right now so have just been eating the 3 meals DH gives me - can’t get up for snacks v easily! Grin I do already miss exercise though & its head-clearing benefits, especially running & swimming.

Hope you feel better soon and don't get crazy bored. I thought I'd pile on weight due to being trapped indoors due to lockdown... but didn't. Maybe your appetite will adjust.
