Just that really. I've just started the 10k programme after a lot of injuries last year. Fancy a trip to Abel township?

@LynnThese4reSEXPEOPLE i am thinking of downloading it and starting tomorrow. Is it any good?

I did zombies run for years. Loved it. Some of the episodes were very funny. There's a particularly good episode where they make contact with survivors in Canada with a completely unexpected guest appearance. I won't spoil the surprise by telling you who.

I did it for a couple of months last year before hurting myself after running like a madwoman down a pavement during an attack Grin it's great but do exercise caution! We now live in the middle of nowhere with lots of national speed limit one track roads so I have a Peloton on order instead!

yumyumpoppycat · 09/01/2022 08:18

Brilliant thanks both! I am downloading it now - in part to find out if my Canadian guess is right! Will be careful not to get too immersed during attacks whyyes - enjoy your pèleton!

The zombies are highly motivating! Really good looking at the sports watch after a session with the chases set to "high". I feel extremely possessive about everything I have collected too, so refuse to let them catch up!

Lynn it's funny how we can get absorbed. I found myself looking for a hospital in my local park 😂 Which app are you using? This morning I did run zombies! but I have just downloaded the 5k version and will try that tomorrow/ during the week.

@yumyumpoppycat I'm using the Android "Zombies, Run!" and the C210k under "Missions". Running at night rurally has made it extra scary!

I'm on series 8. That's a lot of curly wirlys!

The reference to Canada has just taken me back a few years to a specific spot of a run where I heard that bit.

I also remember running down a hill in the early days howling with laughter when the Girl Guides were introduced.

Neolara · 09/01/2022 23:22

Oh yes. Loved the girl guides!

yumyumpoppycat · 10/01/2022 10:46

Don't think I am brave enough to do it at night - I will defo start seeing things 😱

I have tried c25k on nhs app about 3 times and given up so fingers crossed the zombies scare me into action!

PB on Park Run today, although it was a struggle to to start telling "Zombies! Zombies!"

yumyumpoppycat · 16/01/2022 16:23

Well done on PB!

I have been lax all week. Finally started the 5k version. It had a fun concept but then there were no zombies the whole time - given the fog this morning it felt a wasted opportunity! There wasn't much running at all so this one is good for a total beginner. I did more running in the free form bit after. Slower pace might be better though tbh as I usually overdo it and hurt myself.

LynnThese4reSEXPEOPLE · 18/01/2022 18:34

@yumyumpoppycat do you have the chases switched on? Sometimes they need to have the frequency put up or you don't get chases

Oh ok I am not sure I will check, thanks!!
