Hi there
I was wondering if anyone has got an online personal trainer.

The reason I ask is I joined one after being sold on the idea from a gym I attend. It sounded amazing and it was the right time for me to fix my weight and become healthier now my toddler is at nursery.

I pay £140 a month but I get all my gym classes (which I can’t attend but I wasn’t too fussed about that) and told I would be receiving regular contact, nutrition help, fitness logs, etc

I joined over a month ago and I got a one drive where I upload my weekly logs for food, progress pictures and check-in sheet detailing my measurements and how I “feel” this week

I’ve had nothing else. No food help, no calorie allowance, no guides, just told “Proteins good, Fat Bad” and given an excel sheet of workout routines that I’ve to do 3-4x a week.
I’ve kept to standard 1900 cals since I’m clueless and I watch what I eat and thankfully I am slowly losing weight but I’m not sure if I’m expecting too much or if I’m being short changed but I thought for £140, I’d be given a little bit more push instead of being told to log everything I eat on MyFitnessPal.

Anyone else done this and can give an insight of whether this is normal or not.
Thanks

I've not done it but I have been seriously thinking about getting a coach so have been looking into it. I've decided to opt for the EC method. It's group coaching where workouts are posted and whilst there isn't a meal plan as such your calories will be dictated snd help with macros given. They also do live podcasts twice a week where you can ask questions and also have active social media pages and closed groups for those who sign up. It sounds like
Your experience hasn't been great and it's a decent amount of money so I would definitely look elsewhere

Thanks so much,
This is the first time I’ve done a PT as I’ve always been in groups - I know it’s a lot of money but lockdown weight went a bit crazy so I thought it would be worth it to get me back on track.

Im stuck on this for another 2 months but glad I’m not the only one thinking the same - I just feel like I’m throwing money at the PT and I’m just a side thought despite contacting regularly to see if I need to do anything or if I can get any more guidance on other calories but I keep getting the same “you’re doing great” and then don’t hear from them for a week 😑

Feeling a bit of a fool - it’s actually quite a popular gym that I’ve been going for ages where I live so I’m a little disappointed when they are all qualified degreed Personal trainers

I’ll have a look at your idea, I haven’t looked into groups but this sounds like something I would feel more comfortable with. X

I think should also feed it back to the gym involved and perhaps even try to get out of the next two months or get a refund.
