Lightly padded sports bra for running

I love the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run padded sports bra but can't seem to get hold of it in 36C for love nor money - have been looking for months! Does anyone have any other recommendations? It needs to be high impact (running), be lightly padded as I don't want my nipples showing and have adjustable shoulder straps as I have a long torso so ones without adjustable straps are just too high on my chest!

Have you tried Sweaty Betty? They do lightly padded running bras. I love mine.

I'm a 34e so usually struggle getting a decent sports bra for less than about £40! However, I've recently found George sports bras in my size... lightly padded, zip up at the front, great support. All for about £9!

Hi OP, I feel your pain! I've also been looking on for another SA in my size, for ages now.
I bought this one from M&S on a whim and I'm actually impressed with it. You can convert it to a racer back for added support. I would definitely buy another one.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I've had no luck with Marks bras for a while now (bought a whole range of sports bras and none fitted properly - I guess it depends on your boob shape etc!), but will give that one a go along with the Asda when I next go. My SB leggings are my favourites and I need another pair so I'll try them too. I can see they have one lightly padded high impact bra that looks very like the Shock Absorber ones - aptly named The Victory - so that sounds promising

Aren't all decent sports bras hefty enough that your nipples don't show? An extra layer of padding sounds like a nightmare. How does the sweat wick away? Doesn't it just get as far as the padding and sit there? Sounds horrible.

I have always run in Shock Absorber bras, which have 2 layers of pretty robust fabric, and are very supportive (for a D/DD).

And…. Are you sure you’re a 36c? I’m a 34E usually, but a 36dd in SA bras (been wearing them for decades). Up a band and down a cup size isn’t unusual in SA bras. It is much discussed on running forums!!

The SA padded ones are very lightly padded so sweat definitely wicks away! They aren't like the cheap ones you get with foam cups, I agree that running with soggy boobs would be revolting! I've tried the normal ones and my nipples most definitely show through them, and I would prefer that they didn't!

@Granita1 Have you tried Brand Alley or eBay (for new not used!)? Another good brand is Berlei - they're available on Brand Alley and when you wear one of their bras nothing bounces!

I get padded bras from Decathlon. As someone around the 32B/ 30C mark, I need the padding as otherwise a sports bra squishes me to a depressingly flat chest.

@BogRollBOGOF - for me the point of a sports bra is to squish everything as much as possible! The more it's squished, the less it moves! My mind is boggled at the idea of adding any more layers/fabric to a sports bra for aesthetic reasons - surely it's a garment of function and practicality?

Oh no, ignore that - though the title says padded, the product description says non-padded. I love the Ultimate Run padded, don't know what I'd do without it!

Apologies @Granita1. I didn’t even realise they DH’s a padded version, I thought you meant the double layer standard version.

Try Brooks, theirs are pretty well padded at the front.
I have some Nike cropped top style ones that are also well protected and although they're classed as high impact I'm not sure they'd be good enough for bigger boobs (mine are more in the fried egg category!)

Check Syrokan on Amazon or Aliexpress. They have several padded and adjustable models.

Panache, they do an underwired or non wired version.

I also love ultimate run bras, though I didn't realise they did a padded version.

However I recently bought a padded sports bra from Asda (more like moulded cups than padding) and it's super comfy. I don't think it holds me in quite as well as the shock absorber but it's good nonetheless.

The one I bought is orange and that doesn't seem to be on the website any more but it's definitely the same one.

I quite like the padding on a cold day, because I don't particularly want everyone to see my nipples showing through my top and I don't like to wear layers because I get too hot once I've started running.
