Fitbit fitness score- has yours gone up?

I feel fitter than I used to be. Average 15k steps a day. Zumba twice a week, body pump 3 times a week, long hilly walks. My rating says average to good. How can I get it higher?

As far as I can tell the score goes up when your average resting heart rate goes down. There may be other factors it takes into account, but resting heart rate seems to be the main one that makes a difference.

One thing to bear in mind is that the ranges the FitBit uses are very broad. So your score may be going up, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you end up in a different band.

I’ve personally improved my fitness score from average, to the top end of good-very good. I average about an hour of intense cardio a day, and do lots of walking on top of that. More important than the FitBit score is how you feel. If you feel good with what you are currently doing, keep doing it!

Mine went up when I started running. Is it the cardio fitness score you mean? I only run for 30 mins 3 times a week, reasonably active other than that, maybe 1 sport session. I think mine is "excellent" for my age HmmGrin

Ah well done!

Mine is 37 - excellent for my age apparently. It went from very good to excellent category when I turned 50 recently without the number actually changing Grin.
Running is the thing that improves the number for me.

Mine also went up when I started running! I run for 20 min three times a week and do weight training 5 days a week. My resting heart rate also went down significantly.

Does this mean I'm getting fitter?

Yes!!!

Resting heart rate also varies during your monthly cycle, mine can change by several beats per minute

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 19/08/2021 20:43

Hurrah! Grin

My resting heart rate changes a lot with my cycle as well. Lowest during my period eg 59 then up to 65 a few days later.

Stevie6 · 19/08/2021 21:19

@MajesticWhine mine goes up just before then drops back down when it arrives

It's all about the overall picture. Cycles aside, here's mine. You can see that it varies significantly but yeh overall trend of the graph is decreasing.
