I got a wristband monitor because I wanted to keep an eye on my heart rate (when I had a phone that measured it I apparently had a reeeeeaaallly low RHR which considering my level of unfitness was a little disconcerting)
I've been wearing it tight enough to feel uncomfortable (stings a bit).
Today was the first exercise session with the band on. At a rest point I looked at the band and it said 107: feeling the pulse in my neck I was pretty certain it was faster than that - reported the pace to the rest of the group who agreed. A few moments later it was 126, then all of a sudden it dropped back to 81. Refused to move from this.
At this point I threw it off in frustration. For reference: walking around the house has got me to 81 on several occasions. I'm at 61 right now. Making the bed earlier took me up to 95.
My question is: how likely is it that the tracker is missing out half of my heartbeats? (the phone used to pretend it couldn't find my pulse whenever it was moderately raised)
And is there anything I can do to persuade it otherwise?
