Smart Runner with Zwift

So I bought a smart turbo trainer for DH bike, for his birthday. He uses it with Zwift. I'd like a smart treadmill that I can use with Zwift, that can be used by me and 6 foot DH.

Any recommendations? I dont know whether there are ones for around £1k to £1.5k?

You’ve got a number of options to run on Zwift. (1) There are a number of different treadmill brands that support Zwift. (2) Or if you’re after one with a platform easily big enough for tall DH you could choose the perfect one and use a run pod eg Stryde or Garmin run pod (Zwift also have one but I think it’s hard to get hold off). (3) I know many Zwifters also use a clever App (that someone very canny from the Zwift community developed) called Run Cline that you can use to turn your treadmill into a smart one. (4) Finally, there’s also a sensor you can buy to attach to your treadmill - NPE Runn - that will give the same data as a Zwift compatible treadmill would.

The difference is that you won’t get cadence data using just a treadmill so I know Stryde is very popular for that reason. It also means people can use it outdoors.

I’ve been using a Zwift run pod but am waiting for a new Zwift compatible treadmill, the NoblePro elite e8i. It was discounted when I ordered it at £1445. It’s very popular amongst Zwifters and I hear the customer service is excellent. ETA end of April. Hope that helps?

I'm going to look at the NoblePro. What was your reason for choosing it over the pod?

The pod is nice and simple but it needs a new battery in and can be glitchy. Others have complained about its inaccuracy although mine is pretty good so perhaps it is a bit hit and miss. I think the Stryde pod is much better quality (more reliable) although expensive. But if you are after the perfect TM it is worth looking at it as an alternative set up. I chose the Noble Pro because i didn't want a footpod for outdoor use and wanted to avoid the glitchiness of the Zwift run pod. Good luck whatever you decide!

@MoshiMoshiSushi, did you receive your Noble Pro yet? Mine is next week now for delivery! Keeps changing.

MoshiMoshiSushi · 18/05/2021 16:26

@Icenii Mine is scheduled for delivery this week on Thursday. Hopefully it won't change. Very exciting.

The saga continues...

Mine was this Thursday and it's been moved back to the 25th!

lcenii · 18/05/2021 16:32

Arh yes. That's the email I received. Was so excited too.

@MoshiMoshiSushi

Did you order the Elite 8ei?

I did but I am not sure if I've been sent the elite 8. Does yours just have elite written on the side of the tread plate?

lceniWarrior · 26/05/2021 13:03

E8i

MoshiMoshiSushi · 26/05/2021 16:12

@lceniWarrior
If it’s elite then it’s the top of the range model. It’s the one I’ve got.

MoshiMoshiSushi · 26/05/2021 21:34

All set up and OK? If you have set up the wifi you have definitely been given the Elite E8i. Enjoy!

SunnyC72 · 24/12/2021 15:19

Are you managing to zwift with the e8i? Just curious if the the treadmill and zwift auto incline and speed are enabled?
