A bad run’s better than no run, right?

I’ve been running on and off for years but have become sloth-like over this lockdown so am trying to get back on to it. After a full day at work, I came back, forced my handfuls of lard into Lycra at least one size too small (am I hell as buying new stuff, I’ll be thin again soon...) and headed out. Well the wind was strong and freezing, I was knackered, never got my breath, never hit my stride and slunk home after 1.5miles. A new low even for me! Trying to console myself that at least it’s better than no run at all, and trying not to think about the one biscuit worth of calories i heroically burnt off!

Tell me I’m not the only one having exercise fails at the moment!

You did brilliantly getting out and running all - well done. More than I’ve done this week.
Also I think running in the wind is way harder than normal esp if you are running into it.

I had a very bad run last week - tripped over nothing, went flying and got bloody palms with gravel embedded in them, a bloody elbow and grazed thigh. I was on my own so tried to style it out but slunk home very sheepishly! Roll on the gyms reopening Confused

@hollyandkit oh no poor you! I hope you're healing well xxx

Yes thanks Italian - I might try again tomorrow!

I deliberately chose a soaking over strong winds this week.

A tail wind is great, but it's always balanced by the resistance of a head wind or being unbalanced by a crosswind.

A bad run is definitely better than no run!

There are very few runs I actively regret and even then, what I regret is continuing to run when I absolutely knew something was getting stiff and sore, and ignored it.

I find whinging at DP for a good 10 minutes about “having” to run before going out, magically makes the run a good one! 😂
