Didn't use it, lost it.

I've always exercised, used to love it.
Walked everywhere, 10 - 15k steps min. Swam every day for years. More recently - say 5 years ago got really into yoga, of the ashtanga variety in a studio. Have had gym spells. Big hikes, canoeing and kayaking. Loved it all.

But since lockdown 1 - so a year, I've done bugger all. Walked a bit. Prob a third of my usual stepcount. Signed up for zoom yoga, hate it. House full of kids, very hard to do home practice.

I have lost all my muscle tone, mojo. I'm loads heavier, and my MH has suffered too.

I want my fitness back, and I need to do ease myself back in.

What would you do?

I'm similar... I wasn't quite as active... but was really enjoying fitness classes before lockdown, was losing weight.
Then lockdown came, classes went on line and I HATED them!! Barely go for a walk. Piled the weight on!

So about 3 weeks ago I started getting up and instead of watching TV before logging into work, I would do alternate days of one morning doing a 20 minute walk and a 20 minute you tube work out (EMKFIT was the videos I was watching) the work outs are Not to strenuous, just enough to build up a bit of a sweat... it was more to build some confidence and getting moving again.
I'm now doing the school run so now need to rejig my routine a bit.... but it's def got me looking forward to getting back to the gym.

So just find something light you can do... and set yourself the task to do it a few times a week. You just need to get in a routine of doing it....

What time do you have?

Can you get up early and get out for a "run" (walk/run til you get back into it) Even just half an hour out of the house will also give you some headspace?

I struggle with online classes in the house when the kids are about, so I do one at 6.30am before they surface on the days off from running.

If I can't face getting up, I do one after they have finished home-schooling (& this week now school) at about 4.30-5pm but DH is also wfh and my DC are then zombies watching screens for an hour.

Does sound like you need the time away from the kids as much as the actual exercise?

Get a peloton. Life changing but not cheap.

Inbox me for a referral code if you're interested.

Oh no I really need the exercise. A year of barely doing anything and all of a sudden I'm like fuck, I could have felt this terrible all my life.

I want my chaturanga arms back and more I want my energy levels up.
