That have a little key pocket and a pocket for my phone.
Does anyone have a brand that they’d recommend? The pickets are essential for me as I take my phone and hate the arm cuff things. I have one pair that I’m washing and wearing constantly and live in fear of the day they die but I got them from tx maxx and it seems they are an American brand that aren’t available here.
Ideally black but just nothing flourescent or patterned, must be thick and must not ever fall down or need rearranging!
I feel like I’m searching for something that doesn’t exist. Price isn’t important, will pay whatever for a couple of new pairs to add into the rotation.

Okay, I’ve ordered a pair of the SB ones and some of the Queenieke yoga ones. Thanks for the recommendations Flowers

Sweaty Betty have never impressed me. Fir the price I found they got loose too quickly and I was constantly hoiking them up.

I am a running gear snob and will happily spend quite eye watering amounts if money on the hobby but at the moment my current favourite are the cheap as chips USA Pro ones from sports direct. They have a phone pocket and are high waisted . I have had two pairs for over a year, one cropped one full length. I have worn and washed them both at least once or twice a week and they are both still absolutely spanking. And for the price, even if I did have to replace them every year or less it would still be several years before they cost the price of the more expensive ones.

If you're happy to shop at Sports Direct, then you could do a lot worse than Karrimor Run. Very cheap, surprisingly good tights and tops.

(Never get their trainers though!)

@1990s

Does your phone ever fall out of the flip belt? I’m a bit confused by it having no zips
No

Oops. Pressed post too soon! No there are gaps to get into it but you can slide the phone along inside the tube. It's very secure.

Tikiboo

Crocky · 14/02/2021 19:12

I have sweaty Betty power, lululemon, lucy locket loves, tikiboo, Nike and my cheap as chips queenie ke from Amazon.
These are my absolute favourite. They are the most comfortable, the waist band doesn’t roll down and they just do what I need them to do

The 'cheap as chips'perhaps needs spelling out

Decathlon (my staple, excellent quality) £14:99 and upwards
Karrimor (good) £16 and upwards

Crocky's linked ones £24:99

Tikiboo (lovely- some plain ones among the many brights) £37:99

Sweaty Betty power gym £75

minnie465 · 14/02/2021 19:28

I bought two pairs of powerhold leggings from fabletics last year using the introductory offer (£25 for 2). You have to subscribe but you can ring up and cancel easily once you receive them. Excellent quality

Flipbelt do make belts with a zip now. Flipping love mine.

AOwlAOwlAOwl · 14/02/2021 20:13

My absolute faves at the minute are from decathlon.

I also have a pair of queenieke which are pretty good value but Nike have been reliably good for me, never had a shit pair of leggings from them, or Brooks. I think it depends on your body shape which brands work for you - I have several pairs from Adidas I don't wear as they just fall down ever so gradually as I run, so I have to yank them up every few k.

Lovaduck74 · 14/02/2021 20:25

Yes, the yoga ones are the ones I have. Only problem was they aren't that warm if you are running in subzero temps like this week!

AuntieStella · 14/02/2021 20:36

If you don't mind flashing the cash (or are prepared to store up thus recommendation and buy off-season in the summer ready for next winter, the 2XU Wind Defence running tights are amazing for the serious cold.

But like all 2XU I've ever had, their pockets are useless. So also get a Flipbelt (worth paying for the real thing, much better build quality than look-a-likes) or a Spibelt (look-a-likes often fine)

2XU is really good compression wear - and, when shops are open, sometimes turn up in TKMaxx

pensivepigeon · 14/02/2021 20:57

Love 2XU but then don't use the pocket. I've a running belt.

My Asics ones have zippy pocket which would be good, I would think. They do come up larger, though, on the compression model. Good quality, however.

Hope this helps. Smile
