Hi, decided it's time to lose the baby weight!!

Has anyone actually calorie counted or just made good choices when deciding what to eat??

I did 5:2 to lose by baby weight. Worked a treat. Counting calories was too labour intensive for me! Loads of apps to help you if you do go that way though. My fitness pal is good and free. Good luck.

I do but quite loosely, I'll over estimate where possible.

I do 16:8 and two days per week I try 18:6. Basically i usually eat a light breakfast at 930 and make sure I'm finished dinner by 530 but then two days per week i skip breakfast.

I try and keep my total calories about the 1500 mark for weight loss. This includes either a 5km run or walk every day

You might find more people who calorie count in the 'weight loss chat' section!

You haven't mentioned what sort of exercise you do or are thinking of doing. It's a truism that you can't outrun a bad diet, but even though it's not the key to weight loss, getting more active will do you the power of good in many, many ways

I think finding a diet that can become a lifestyle choice are the best, I know that sounds corny, but if you start a new way of eating that becomes a habit the weight is more likely to stay off.

So if that's calorie counting and your meal choices can become your norm then great, my fitness pal is really good for calorie counting, I was really shocked at calories in some foods when my friend used it and it also breaks down the different type of food into fat, protein etc
