Exercise in small cottage

I have enjoyed crossfit over the past year and had just started seeing progress in the weight I could lift etc but still very much a beginner.

With the impending lockdown I will be more confined to exercise at home as I'm not much of a runner and assume it will be cold and wet in November.

My problem is I live in a cottage with low ceilings 6 foot 2 to be precise. I am unable to do any exercise that involves standing and putting my arms overhead as I touch the ceiling. Therefore standing weights are a no go.

Does anyone have any idea what exercises I could do, I'm looking for cardio stuff to get my heart up (without large equipment as nowhere to store it) and weights or bodyweight. Thanks

I use the app workout trainer for Android it seems pretty good, you can search up different things like 'barbell workout', 'bootcamp', 'outdoors', 'legs'. Some free some subscription only. It's not flash but the workouts I have done have been great and made me sweat.

Hi @Nizzle. I've been using Fitness Blender a lot. There are hundreds of free workouts of varying length and you can filter them according to your requirements such as level of difficulty; trainer; body focus (cardio; strength, HIIT etc.) and equipment. Kelli & Daniel are endearingly human, aren't shouty & annoying and their instructions are crystal clear. There's no music, but if that's your thing you could easily mute the videos and play your own tunes.

Have a squizz at some of the workouts and bookmark the ones that fulfill your criteria.

You can overhead press while kneeling (on one knee works the core more, too) or even seated. Go easy on the weights at first - it is much harder work in these positions as you cannot build in any momentum from the legs.

Mr Motivator has "daily dozen" youtube videos (one released each week)
Mainly aerobic but some use hand weights.
It's him and his wife in their little kitchen and it doesn't take more than one step in any direction. Very practical for restricted space.

TRX body weight exercise is good in a small space

Les mills on demand app, has lots of options for classes and many are either body weight or using hand weights. Some really fun classes for all abilities.
