What do you wear on your feet to exercise indoors

If you exercise indoors and live in a flat how do you minimise noise?

Our only TV is in the living room where we have wooden floor. I usually wear a spare pair of trainers that I don’t often wear outside but I’ve just started Les Mills and some of the workouts are quite jumpy. They are quite chunky trainers so possibly make more noise that a smaller pair/plimsolls. Would you do them barefoot/in socks?

I can exercise in the bedroom that has carpet but much smaller space and would need to use the laptop.

I have arthritic ankles so also wondering if exercising without anything on is not a great idea.

I wear clean trainers or barefoot, but do use a mat on carpet. I just think the neighbours can get over 30 mins of noise, they make noise too! (Eg just had their bathroom done and there was a lot of drilling). We are perfectly pleasant to each other and on good terms. You can't live silently and its not like you're having parties in the early hours.

i wouldnt exercise barefoot or without trainers as you need the support in your ankles and if you already have arthitic ankles i dont think its the best idea

I highly recommend Nike Metcon trainers. There are very versatile for training and offer amazing support.

I wear trainers (but noise is not a problem as we are in a detached house). That said, you might pay some attention to your jumping technique since it is possible to land really noisily or reasonably quietly. The latter is much kinder on your joints, never mind the neighbours.
