Yoga mat - which side?!

New to yoga and doing 30 days with Adrienne - which side of the mat should I use? I seem to slip and slide on both!

Side on the left goes to the floor .. if you've got a new mat it might be a bit sticky but that should go .. if it's feeli Nd slippy give it a wipe with some hot water and try to avoid getting on the mat with any moisturizer or oils .. good luck! Adrienne is amazing but be gentle on yourself .. go slow and steady and take care of your wrists .. it's a great practice but needs a slow build up ....

Oh, I'd have said the left side was the upper side - the bumpy surface allows you to grip more easily?

Hmmm. My mat has a very obvious top side, so I didn't need to think about it... (sorry, that's not much help!)

I don't do Yoga but do Pilates and I would say bumpy side up because you use the bumps as grips when changing positions.

Bumpy side up will be a huge help when doing positions such as downward dog where your feet can slip.
Your weight will stop it sliding on the floor anyway.
