I started 13/7 and am expecting it to take me pretty much all year 🙂

I got an email this morning - I have probably mistyped something important so I need to email back confirming a couple of spellings and they'll find me in the system and set it straight.

They sound really friendly, which is always a good sign

swampytiggaa · 19/08/2020 08:01

So have you started @AuntieStella? My friend has signed up for the next one starting 1st September 🙂

I’m in my 6th week and on 114 miles. Really motivating me to run!

Alargeoneplease · 20/08/2020 13:16

I’m in my 6th week too. Just below 90 miles me, which is less than my target but been poorly and had a non-running injury!
Not stressing about it though as that takes away the fun... I’ve still got 46 week left 😉

AuntieStella · 20/08/2020 18:41

Yes I've started! vLEJOG-4

I've not logged many miles yet - hoping to do rather more over the weekend. But at least I know I've worked out how to do the uploading properly.

You need to do a minimum of 2.4 miles per day (which is 16.8 miles a week) to get it done over a whole year. I've seem that some racing snakes are over 60 miles already!

swampytiggaa · 20/08/2020 21:18

Yes ignore the speedy delivery pants 😂😂 I’m averaging 20 miles a week which is giving me a few days in hand in case of illness or injury.

I've reached Bodmin Moor!!

Isn't that where the Hound of the Baskervilles would hang out?

No he’s on Dartmoor 😂😂

I’m at Tiverton. Woohoo!

AuntieStella · 02/09/2020 07:50

I must have been thinking of The Beast Grin

iVampire · 02/09/2020 07:51

I’ve reached Dartmoor

DDog has accompanied me in parts, but she’s a terrier not a hound!

Filiboom · 02/09/2020 15:22

Totally influenced and I’ve just signed up to this today! Currently in quarantine, but going to get started next week. Will be good to have something to work towards. Looking forward to seeing how every one gets on - love the idea of seeing where you are!

iVampire · 19/09/2020 09:08

I’m nearly at Weston super Mare

How’s everyone else doing?

AuntieStella · 05/10/2020 10:33

Why does the route go through a bit of Wales? Just to include another home nation?

Not that I'm there yet, but was looking ahead and what's coming up

UnaOfStormhold · 05/10/2020 17:49

Hello lejoggers! I'm on map 5 (1 September start) and have just got my 100 mile postcard after a short drizzly walk yesterday to make up that crucial 1.6miles. (I'm still pretty new to running so am counting walks as well.)

iVampire · 05/10/2020 18:53

I’ve got both runs and walks logged. Not every time I go out on foot, Rather when I deliberately go for a walk IYSWIM

I’m ‘in’ Gloucestershire at the moment, and have no idea why there was the little Welsh diversion. Is it traditional??

swampytiggaa · 06/10/2020 19:06

I’ve done 260 miles 🙂 only logging runs. Am a couple of weeks ahead of schedule so I’m happy 🙂

IRun4Me · 07/10/2020 11:38

Morning. I’m doing the September one which is map 6. So still in Cornwall but pleased with my progress so far.
I’m hoping to do mostly runs but if I will count my fast, purposeful walks - ones which get my heart rate up.

wejammin · 24/10/2020 10:12

I've just signed up for this through work, starting on Monday. I've never run a day in my life and hoping just walking will be enough - I have a full on job and 3 kids including one with additional needs so I really have no extra time to actively go out and run. I'm hoping it will encourage me to eg pace during calls, walk to the local shop, walk round the park instead of sitting whilst the kids play.

Do you think it's achievable over a year?

AuntieStella · 24/10/2020 10:22

Yes.

It's 874 miles, so that's the equivalent of 2.4 miles a day if you use the full 365. If you can aim to do 20 miles a week (approx 3 per day, perhaps a bit less weekdays and longer walks at the weekends) then it'll take 44 weeks, leaving you 8 weeks to catch up on any shortfall.

I'm nearly at Birmingham!!

(Good job no tier issues in a virtual event)

swampytiggaa · 24/10/2020 19:07

Hello! I’m on LEJOG3 so I started in July 🙂 running it all as I want it to be a challenge for me 🙂 I’m about 330 miles in and slightly ahead of schedule which allows for illness or injury 🙂

OP posts:
IRun4Me · 01/11/2020 12:33

I’m still going. I’m on LEJOG 6 and just done 100 miles. I’m trying to run most of it and it is motivating me to go out

Alargeoneplease · 11/11/2020 08:16

I’m 250 miles in on LEJOG3 but currently awaiting surgery.., going to be at least the New Year before I can even contemplate any exercise... luckily the lovely organisers have said I can extend so I will finish!

BensonBunny · 12/11/2020 22:44

Hi all, you all sound like you are doing amazingly! My friend sent me details about this earlier, starting next week. I'm interested but not sure I can do it unless I count walking as it's hard for me to get out to run after work on week days. Can I ask about how you log your miles? It looks like you have to manually add to the website? Is there an option to upload from a smart watch or app?

IRun4Me · 15/11/2020 08:48

BensonBunny I log mine manually on the website. It doesn’t take long.
Alargeoneplease I hope you have a quick recovery. Good that you can extend the run.
Slight delay here as I’m now in quarantine for 2 weeks so no running for me.

swampytiggaa · 21/11/2020 19:29

I’m very close to 400 miles now! Should pass that tomorrow 🙂 on lejog3 so started in July and only counting runs 👍🏻

DonttouchthatLarry · 12/12/2020 11:58

I'm doing LEJOG 7, started in October - just passed the 100 mile mark. I'd gone right back to basics after shin splints so have been logging walks too, but have half marathons in March and April so the running miles will be increasing and might be able to achieve it with runs only.
