Any remedies for calf pain when running?

Not me but a friend I run with. She is suffering from pain up the sides of both calves when running, and is desperate to try anything that may work

Following this. Ive started running and im starting to think i am running wrong lol. My lower legs and tops if my feet are absolute agony. Tonight I mostly had to walk because every time my feet hit the ground pain shot up legs, and i can barely bend my feet now. Im dreading tomorrow morning.

I'm hoping others will have tips

I get pain in my calves when my running shoes are wearing out and I need to get new ones. Has she had gait analysis done? And got the right sort of trainers afterwards.

Is yours shin splints rather than calf pain?

Is she doing dynamic stretching before running?

Is she running correctly, not heel striking.

Does she have decent trainers?

I find I get sore calves when running if I haven't stretched properly last time I exercised. I don't stretch before a run as I start of pretty slow, but stretching after is a must. Foam rollering is good for this

Trainer type/drop - either wrong for gait or too flat (or possibly too high heeled)

Not enough insole support?

Suppleness?

I’d look at stretches (before and after) first plus foam rolling. Does she do stretches to target her calves?
Then trainers. Does she need new ones, has she had gait analysis?
Then running style.
How far is she running and how often?
