My fitness pal not syncing with Fitbit

I'm new to both apps. It says the MFP site is down which might explain it I guess but is anyone familiar with this problem? Can I fix it or does it sort itself?

It's now updated half of the steps I've done today but refuses to sync the rest. I've checked the apps are connected and they are both up to date so I'm not sure why it's not updating the data.

Are you planning on eating more calories on days you're more active? Or are you trying to lose weight? If it's the second, I wouldn't sync them anyway.

I just want it to be accurate and it bothers me that it isn't.

Anyone?

As I said, it depends why you're logging food in the first place. Personal trainers I follow on Instagram go out of their way to suggest you don't connect the two apps if you're trying to lose weight, otherwise you'll just eat the same amount of calories as you burn in a day and see no progress in weight loss, despite being more active.

That doesn't help with how to fix the sync issue though. My reasons are irrelevant. I just want it to sync.

I couldn't get mine to do it at all @Bercows. Tried all the advice - deleting/ reinstalling apps, reconnecting etc - nothing. MFP would see the Fitbit but not connect.

In the end I gave it up in a big temper and haven't used MFP since. Mind you I have a different fitness tracker now so maybe it's worth another try!
