Back at gym!

Just wanted to share as I'm so happy to be back at my gym this week. They are opening for outdoor classes only, with classes restricted to 5 members plus the instructor so within the guidelines etc. But I have done three outdoor spin classes this week and OMG I'm loving it! Also very pleased that I have managed to maintain my fitness on our clunky old exercise bike that we dug out of the garage. Was worried that getting back to the gym would kill me but am feeling strong!

Share your exercise success stories here - is anyone else back at their gym with restricted classes?

My exercise success story is managing to keep a fitness routine going at home whilst the gyms have been closed. I always thought that I'd never be able to motivate myself at home and that any attempts would tail off after a few weeks. Thought I needed the push of an instructor and the gym environment to keep me going.
I've worked a 40 hour work throughout lockdown and have still managed to exercise pretty much every day. I've got Les Mills on Demand and the instructors on there are great. I can turn up to class in my scruffs and my hair scraped off my face without worrying about looking a sight. I've been using my spin bike which probably only got used half a dozen times last year. I've been running outside twice a week. I've bought myself weights for bodypump.
I've wondered about cancelling the gym membership but I do miss the social side of it and the pool so think I'm going to keep it but also incorporate home workouts.
Our gym has also started outside classes, about 10 a day I think, but I didn't think 50% fees represented very good value for money considering there's no pool, gym floor, Les Mills classes, cafe, showers etc

That's awesome, well done! I only managed 4 workouts a week at home.

I'm paying 50% membership fees as well but it's worth every penny, I was desperate to get out of the house and it's lifted my mood massively.

Hi OP yes I was back at the gym on Monday, it's been amazing! I've hammered it for 5 days and it was tough - every single muscle in my body ached but in a good way!

I feel so different and so alive being back in the gym... will never take it for granted again! Blush

Yay! Home workouts just aren't the same, are they.

In Australia they have been open for a week and OMG, what a feeling!

Classes are limited, strictly booking even for general admission, temperature checks at entrance and a max of 60 minute.
