Couch to 5k - how to breathe properly

I have just completed week 2, run 1 of Couch to 5k (yay!). I am an awful runner. During week 1, I was a hyperventilating sweaty mess during every run. My husband suggested that I look into whether I'm breathing correctly. At first I thought this was ridiculous, how can I get breathing wrong?! Turns out, I am breathing incorrectly when running! Blush

I read some articles and watched you tube videos. I found this one very helpful.

I did that technique today and even though I was out of breath, I was not a hyperventilating mess!!

I'm so proud of myself for getting this far. I would love to lose 3 stone of baby weight. At the start of each run I am usually Sad or Confused but after completing each run I am always Grin!

Hope everyone is achieving their exercise goals!

I think on Week 3 the app starts to talk to you about breathing and timing it somehow with your stride. I find the breathing and timing really hard, so am now on my third re-wind right back from Week 4 to Week 1. Not very helpful , but at least you know you're not the only one!
