C25k - repeating weeks

I've just done R2W2 today but I'm wondering whether to repeat any weeks as I'm worried my body might not cope with some of the bigger jumps in running time.
FYI I'm a 20 stone running novice!

I repeated W2 as I had a knee injury.

I think C25K is just about getting you there in your own time. If you don't want to push it and just build up stamina go at whatever pace you feel comfortable at.

What I did, instead of repeating weeks, was leave two days between runs instead of just one. I found that gave my achy old body more time to recover between runs. It did mean it took longer to finish the programme but I didn't mind that.

Did W2R3 today and it was tough! I didn't think I'd finish the last 2 'run' sections and I was completely done by the time I got home. The thing is I actually quite enjoyed R2 this week but I'm seriously worried about the jump to W3 - running for 3mins?!? I don't know if I can do that 😒 Feeling a wee bit deflated & panicked at the thought!

I’ve just repeated W2R3 as I was also a bit nervous, but had a bit of an epiphany this morning. I saw a ‘proper’ runner, with Lycra etc Grin and he was actually running slower than I was. I used him to pace myself and I found the run much easier.

That makes me think I should have a go at W3; if the run is more of a speeded up walk, I think that’s ok!

I’m going to do W3R1 on Monday - fancy doing it with me? Wink

I have repeated w4 3 times 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 02/05/2020 09:09

When I first started I was so unfit that I repeated week 1 for three weeks until I felt ready to move on. There is nothing wrong with doing week 2 for a while until you are ready.

Don't run too fast! Take it at a slow jog

Musicalmistress · 02/05/2020 09:53

@RamsayBoltonsConscience I'm definitely doing a slow jog, I reckon anyone doing a brisk walk might pass me lol
@LikeSilentRaindrops My next run is due to be Mon, I might give it a go & see how I get on 😕

@LikeSilentRaindrops I did it! I blooming well did it! W3R1 done 😁😁😁😁
I was as slow as anything but ran both times for the full 3 mins, actually would never have believed I could.
Good luck for your run today 👍🏼

Hurrah, well done! I did it on Tuesday instead, morning sickness is holding me back a bit. I actually found the last 3 mins not too bad!

@LikeSilentRaindrops how are you finding W4? I managed ok today on R2 but surprised myself as I was really tired heading out.
