Hi there. Back in November after a visit to my local David Lloyd club and multiple follow up calls from the sales guy, I ended up signing up at a cost of over £200 a month. However since then I only went twice (a clear sign that the sales guy's hounding was stronger than my motivation, even when switching from my local gym to a fancy one!). At NY I decided to cancel my membership so on 1st January I rang to cancel. I had to leave a voicemail, which I did. After that I rang again a couple of times as I hadn't heard back, but nothing. So I emailed the sales guy - twice. I got a 'read' receipt so I know he saw my emails, but still, nothing. So I cancel my direct debit. But now I'm being chased by the people in membership services for the February payment!!! Because apparently they want a 'clear month' notice and given I rang on 1st January, January had started already so my membership now won't expire until the end of February. I'm thinking this is madness. I did give the one month notice - but I'm being made to pay for two. Has anyone else had a similar issue with this club and, if so, what happened in the end? Did you have to pay? Thank you!
