Jeffing/running

Hellooo there!

So I've tried c25k many times and I get to about week 4 and don't get any further. Someone suggested jeffing to me - basically running/walking intervals. I think there's a calculator for what you should begin with but I'm starting with 30 secs running/30 secs walking for 15 mins. It's not much but it's better than nothing!

Does anyone else do this or fancy starting as a bit of a kick up the bum for me? X

I’ve done a bit of running before and training for a half marathon. I’ve just come across jeffing too and think I’ll have a go!

I forgot to add you should join the ‘Girls that Jeff’ Facebook group for help too Smile

It's a fantastic way of increasing your distance. You can adjust timings when you're more used it.
I once did a half marathon in a pretty decent time and yo yo' with a lady all the way who was jeffing!

If your in Facebook, RMR (run mummy run) don’t worry there are loads of child free people on it too, is really good.

Shock what sort of time did she do?! That's impressive- her runs must've been quick!

Thanks guys - I've joined both those groups. Really want to stick to this

I didn't know it was called jeffing! But yes I do this. Tried c25k but can do more and further like this. I do 50 paces of each.

Bunnylady54 · 16/01/2020 16:28

Thought it meant as in feffing & jeffing lol 😂

SheilaHammond · 16/01/2020 16:30

Btw it always used to be called 'scout's pace' in our family, from an old boy scouts handbook which suggests it for covering big distances quickly.

It was 2.08 - I was absolutely done in - she was absolutely fine!

Runningonempty84 · 16/01/2020 21:22

Ah, fair enough.

puds11 · 16/01/2020 21:25

I’ve just started doing this, didn’t know it had a name. I was calling it interval training. Why is it called jeffing?

Runningonempty84 · 16/01/2020 21:56

It's not the same as interval training....you don't tend to walk in intervals!

I recently joined a beginners running group and finish each session knackered and out of puff! Jeffing group is fab.. basically run 30 seconds, walk 30 seconds for 20 minutes and can have a conversation at the same time. Both good for you in different ways. Jeffing is in conjunction with local county trying to get you fit and free and running group had a charge.
