You tube short exercise videos recommendations

icecreamsundae32 · 06/01/2020 13:33

I need to start exercising unfortunately I can't afford the gym and have childcare issues so I need recommendations of short you tube exercise videos prob 20 min max at a time.

I'm not a good dancer lol so prob not dance based. Mostly I want to tone up thigh, bum and tummy but a bit of cardio too. Would appreciate some personal recommendations and some motivation!

Fitness blender

Smellbow · 06/01/2020 13:41

Search FitnessBlender, they do ones of varying length. You can also get the videos on their website, so you can search by length. I do five/ten minute Pilates ones from them quite often. Lots of videos without needing equipment too. All free.

I'm also interested if people have further recommendations :)

@Hazelnutlatteplease - sorry, cross-posted!

Joe Wicks - Bodycoach tv.

You can search the time you want to work out, do full body, or arms/abs/legs etc.

Bodyfit by Amy, she has loads of different workouts and lots to suit beginner level, all pretty short. Personally I find fitness blender really generic and boring but also hate the really over enthusiastic bouncy American instructors. Amy sits somewhere nicely in the middle. I've stuck to almost daily workouts using her YouTube channel for over 2 years now. First couple of weeks are the hardest OP, once you start feeling and seeing the benefits it will spur you on to keep going.

Eye See Digital. Love her workouts.

Joe Wicks - Lean in 15

Seconding Bodyfit by Amy, non-threatening and effective.

GrinGrinGrin @Smellbow i dont think you can mention exercise and home or you tube without mentioning fitness blender!!! I haven't found any other you tube as good as fitness blender so far. I miss music with fitness blender though. Zumba Strong DVD is superb (very different to zumba), but so far I've only found one DVD and you really do need the full hour to do it. I love the les mills subscription service, but you need a fair bit of equipment for pump and step.id love a you tube/DVD alternative to pump as streaming it can be a bit dodgy. But i havent found anything despite asking around on forums.

I downloaded an app today, called Cardio. I found it when searching for a 7 minute hiit trainer. Only used it today but it's good and you can select the time you want to work out in 5minute increments.

icecreamsundae32 · 06/01/2020 14:00

Thank you I will search and try these. Today I did a 7 minute for 7 days one by Lucy... toddler now awake so will search for fitness blender later and Amy one to start with thanks. I could do with a buddy to keep me going lol.

If you're looking for some buddies, there's a thread I've just rejoined after a long absence - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/exercise/3783245-Exercising-into-a-new-decade-AKA-New-Year-athon-2020.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 06/01/2020 14:36

I didn't mean that as in, you need me to be your buddy Grin just that there's a buddy thread, if you want it. Smile

airedailleurs · 06/01/2020 14:46

Redefining Strength is brilliant; great no-nonsense exercises in short easy-to-follow videos.

icecreamsundae32 · 11/01/2020 14:11

Just done some fitness blender videos. Wow they are pretty hard. Will try Amy's ones tomo. I find it hard to get the hang of some of the activities and I don't know if I'm doing them right...?! Im used to exercising with music of some sort too!

Try hasfit. No music but good workouts and easy to follow. You do need some weights x
