Full time working single mum!
Had to cancel gym membership- just can't get there.
I would love it if you could all recommend a good workout on YouTube please!

How fit are you at the moment and how much space/equipment have you got? Eg skipping rope, mat, dumbbells?

Myotherhusbandisgaryoldman · 15/08/2019 07:25

Plenty of room - I have dumbells and kettlebell

I did Jillian Michael’s Opus on YouTube at the weekend. Ridiculously tough but only short intervals of each thing. Lots of adjustments by me.

LizziesTwin · 15/08/2019 07:46

Lateral skipping without a rope

Ilikewinter · 15/08/2019 07:49

Search for "popsugar", loads of different workputs to choose from

Daffodil2018 · 15/08/2019 07:50

I love the Davina fit in 15 videos. Don't know if they're on YouTube, they're on Amazon Prime video though.

You just need a mat/rug and some 3kg ish weights. There are four: cardio, arms, legs and core. All HIIT-based and really effective in my experience.

Thank you for the ideas - happy to benefit from advice for @Myotherhusbandisgaryoldman

Look for Lucy Wyndham Read on YouTube and online. Absolutely brilliant. She does shorter 4-7 min workouts and longer ones for all ages, impacts and body shapes. I can't speak highly enough of these workouts and how easy they are to fit into my day.

mumderland · 17/08/2019 08:40

Popsugar are great! Many of their videos don't need equipment

cannaethink · 17/08/2019 11:54

Fitness blender has loads on YouTube. Lots of kettlebell workouts as well as hiit stuff.
Body fit by Amy is quite good for kettlebells too.

PlinkPlink · 17/08/2019 12:07

Try Liift4 Free Workout.

Seriously, it's da bomb.

I'm just reaching the end of the whole workout programme and I love it.

See if you like it...

I echo the recommendations for Popsugar
Bodyfit by Amy is good too
And this lady is great if you want a dance workout: www.youtube.com/user/superherofitnesstv

I would recommend Pilates on the mat. I don't like sweating at all, but doing a 5 minutes mat every morning before my little one wakes up, is all I have time for. Though it's a short workout, I can see my body changing))

HeyMicky · 19/08/2019 10:51

HASfit. Loads of different workouts, different session lengths and differentiated options

Rufina · 19/08/2019 10:54

Found it - I am doing The Pilates Pod YouTube 5 minutes workout)

timshelthechoice · 19/08/2019 10:56

Fitness Blender is fab!

moonpiggle · 19/08/2019 10:58

Il second Bodyfit by Amy.

Bumbers · 19/08/2019 11:50

I like the Joe Wicks ones!

Very glad I found this thread - hav

Sorry, fingers pressed send early! 😡

Meant to say I’ve just done 5 days straight of Popsugar videos - I think I have a girl-crush on Anna! She’s amazing.

I’ve set myself a 30 day challenge to do at least one video workout a day - ideally 2: a “proper” workout in the morning and a wind-down yoga one in the evening. Yoga with Adriene has been helping with the evening ones!

Finally feeling like I can support my weight again after the soreness of the last 5 days. 🤣🤣

Bluthbanana · 23/08/2019 20:09

I'm loving Les Mills On Demand. 10 day free trial and £11.99 a month for full access to loads of videos for all their classes of varying lengths - everything from a quick 12 minute upper body BodyPump to 55 minute BodyBalance conditioning workout. BodyPump can be done with dumbbells/weight plate (or a kettle) if you don't have a bar, and a lot of the workouts only need either weights or a yoga mat (which is optional anyway). If you have an exercise bike there are cycle classes too.

I can't get to the gym either (childcare and cost) and this has been a god-send to me. I honestly couldn't recommend having a nose around the website enough. I know it's not free, like Youtube, but I feel that it's worth it for the access to the sheer volume of consistently well produced videos.

BooseysMom · 23/08/2019 20:12

I absolutely love the Caribbean Workout with Shelley McDonald. They're set in Barbados and are often by the ocean so you can imagine being there! The music is great and although they are about 15 years old they don't date too badly. I love the fact they are just short workouts but they still get your heart rate up. The chi ball ones are my favourite. They are amateur style videos but that makes it more ordinary life-like and you can have a laugh! They used to be on Body in Balance channel on Sky but that closed down and you can find them on YouTube now.

Schumann · 23/08/2019 20:15

I've just started doing the body coach (Joe wicks) ones. They're fabulous.. Loads of choice and they all seem to be 15 or 20 mins, so relatively easy to find the time to do one.

DuesToTheDirt · 23/08/2019 20:18

Gymra have lots of good ones.
