Have I create a fear of going under the water????

I am an average swimmer but I could do with more of it as I don't do it often. (when I was a kid, I used to go swimming nearly every day). On holiday October last year, I nearly drowned trying to get my dd's floaty which It was floating out to the sea, I was so out of breath.. I managed to get it but I thought "Never again!! ".

Since then, I'm not comfortable swimming. I'm not OK if I can't feel the bottom of the pool. I thought I try the goggles I've bought to able to see my son underwate. I tried it but it was definitely a no no no...

But it used to never bother me with both of the fears as I can feel my heart is pumping in my throat!!!

I'm not giving up as I do love swimming.

Help!!

I took an improvers class - it was brilliant. I could already swim but it was fantastic for building confidence, face in the water sort of thing. Might help you?

Thanks to both of you.
