Anyone else manage a sports team?

Due to an injury I happily agreed to manage a sports team for a few months.
Send a few emails, arrange some fixtures and polish a cup or two maybe not I thought naively.

It really isn't like that is it?
Some people won't play if others are on the team, last minute drop outs, emails not replied. These are all middle aged women not flakey teens.
I'm trying to be kind and fair, any coping strategies would be welcome?

Hi
I’ve been involved in a children’s team for a few years now. We don’t have the ‘personality issues ‘ you mention but increasing social activities has been massive in building team spirit and loyalty.

Do you (or somebody else in the team) have the energies to organise a tour or an away trip?

Most of our players are committed to other activities and their families are busy. Numbers were fairly low to begin with- only a quarter/third of the team but post trip banter has drawn more in.

Focus on your team’s positives and Good luck!

Thanks @squiggletea. Not sure we could do an away tour but a none sporty social event is a great plan.
