Just want to share my parkrun PB

My family aren't that bothered which is fair enough but I was so happy with my PB today. It was my 15th parkrun and I tried for a PB last week and missed it by three seconds and tried again this week and knocked one and a half minutes off! So happy Grin

Well done! That's beating it by a good bit!

NannyR · 06/04/2019 19:29

Well done, that's brilliant! I got a pb too, but it's only my third parkrun and I'm still power walking the uphill bits rather than running the whole thing - knocked 1 min 37 sec off my time last week though which I was really chuffed about!

Whatififall · 06/04/2019 19:31

Well done!

BusterTheBulldog · 06/04/2019 19:33

Well done! Love a PB.
First time back today after two weeks injured, so I was taking it slowly. Felt good to be back.

Geekster1963 · 06/04/2019 19:36

Thank you all and well done on your PB too NannyR the last time I beat it was by six seconds at the end of December.

That’s fantastic, well done! You took a fair bit off too! It’s so frustrating when you are close and miss it by three seconds 😆

I ran with a friend on her 3rd parkrun and helped her get a pb so feeling happy.

Well done everyone who ran, jogged, walked or volunteered!

Notageek · 07/04/2019 07:32

Wow, 1 and 1/2 minutes that’s fantastic ! Well done ....not jealous at all :-)

Marmite27 · 07/04/2019 07:59

Well done! I got a Pb too. Knocked 1 min 16 seconds off my best time. Which was pre baby #2 who is 1 next week!

Shahlalala · 07/04/2019 08:00

Well done Geekster!! That's a huge improvement to make in one go. Can I ask, do you wear a GPS watch or similar so you can monitor your pace? I found that as soon as I started wearing one (it was originally my husband's, but I've "permanently borrowed" it!! it made a huge difference to my speed. I mean that you can work out what time you want to achieve, and then just work out what pace you need to hit over those 5km. It's so much better (in my opinion) than just running by 'feel' over a short distance like Parkrun.

Geekster1963 · 08/04/2019 22:07

Daisy I do wear a GPS watch but I have it set so I don't see my times while running as I find it off putting looking at it or trying to keep up a pace. Though I wish I'd looked at it yesterday as I did the Lincoln 10k in an hour and 21 seconds. Though we were all stuck in a bottle neck for over a minute.

cushellekoala · 09/04/2019 19:03

Im so far away from getting back to a pb that I'm just enjoying running with my DS (and helping him try to get a pb)

cushellekoala · 09/04/2019 19:06

Sorry forgot to say 1.5 min is a fab amount to smash your pb by thats amazing!! . ...maybe there is hope for me yet!!🤣

TriSkiRun99 · 11/04/2019 10:15

It must have been the weekend for PBs at ours as all four of us got PBs (2 other mums & a hubbie) I was SO pleased to knock 4secs off a time I set last May Grin I knew at the beginning as the wind was blowing the opposite way to usual so head wind on our leg and tail on back leg so I ran hard on out leg into the wind, gambling I’d get blown back on the bit I normally struggle on 3-4K bit, then chased everyone over the line. The guy that tracked me all the way on my shoulder then sprinted past me at the end was in the 70-75 age catergory 😂I had no idea he was 25yrs older than me! Hats off to him.
