Swim suit for big boobed regular swimmer

I've been wearing a very expensive speedo suit for the last few months but I've finally accepted that it doesn't work for any kind of distance swimming. It has nicely defined boob areas but as there's no under wire, my double gs swing wildly as I'm ploughing along. Can anyone recommend a suit for swimming while norked?

I have a fabulous speedo one from bravissimo which has built in underwired bra. Also not cheap. They have lots of different bra sized underwired on there, speedo best for serious swimming though I think. Also look at figleaves and brastop, although again more beach than distance swimming.

Thanks Changing. I swim 3-5km per week and I think you're right about speedo being a reliable brand. There are mixed reviews on bravissimo and the ones about the water gathering crotch are a bit concerning as that's something I've noticed with my current suit. I'm happy to spend the money on a good suit but not if it won't be right.

I use Zoggs which is a proper swimming brand and find them nicely supportive. But I haven't looked for underwired.

I wouldn't have thought that underwired would be any good for swimming those sorts of distances - i'd expect it to rub.

Have you tried a size down from your current suit? Could it just be it's too big. I find the back style makes a difference too, once accidentally bought one that doesn't cross at the back and that resulted in a boob swinging effect (I'm an F)

That's an interesting thought, soulrider, it doesn't have crossover straps where any previous, although cheap and cheerful, suits did. I found one with a mesh bra and crossover back on the zoggs site. What's their sizing like, TeenTimesTwo?

Sizing is pretty good I think. Not obviously too big or too small.

I have/had a speedo underwired one which was perfect for swimming laps. I can't see the same style for sale any more though, it may be water gathering crotch is specific to the styles

My speedos didn't rub on distance, but again I refer to fit; my g cups would sometimes get rubbed just by normal bras if they didn't fit well. My style has a bra like clasp around the back, with an open lower back. ((Can't remember if I still have it or it got binned finally at the end of last summer))

I have a Panache one which stays firmly put for several km of swimming. I also have a Freya one which I like the look of, but is a bit short in the body for me.

If you don't mind the ££££, then people on the Outdoor Swimming Society FB group rave about Deakin and Blue.

Which panache do you have, CMOT? I can't see any that look like the straps wouldn't fall down after a few lengths.

This is the one I have, though I don't clip the straps together as I don't like it (I don't do that with sports bras either)

The other option is to wear a sports bra under your swim costume. I did it for a Tri and found it actually really comfy. I wear Aquasphere costumes at the moment I size upto a 42, but you can adjust the straps to fit. They aren’t perfect (I can find anything that is for 38G) that lasts well for swimming 2x a week an hr at a time. But I’m gonna check out that suit CMOTDibbler see if it may suit me.

The swim suit version of my favourite sports bra! Unfortunately I can't find it bigger than a DD.

Not sure if be able to breathe with a bra under my togs!

I wear a normal sports bra underneath too. It works fine. You can try it one time without buying anything new.

Juniperbeer- is it really worth the money? They look so lovely but I gag at the price if they won't last or be really comfy. But, you know, its nearly lido and outdoor season....

Gad zooks, €100++ for a swim suit?? Really not sure I can justify spending that much. I'll dig out an old running bra first .

(and boob overspill on the models doesn't inspire me either)

I didn’t think I’d like swimming in a shock absorber bra but I really didn’t notice it once I was swimming and it was more comfy as I had no juggling

@CMOTDibbler it honestly changed swimming for me. Now I jump at going 4 times a week. They are so so very well made. I don’t think I’d ever buy a Speedo or Nike one again. Their customer service is great too.

I forgot to come back... I got a zoggs suit with a high neck and a neck height back tie. It's got a mesh shelf thing and has tamed the beasts. I'm also far less soggy crotched so I'm happier all round. I'll keep all the suggestions for next time. Thanks everyone.
