Buying trainers, who knew it was so hard?

I have a pair of Mizuno Wave Ultima trainers. I recently bought a new pair of New Balance trainers but I really don't like them. Look at Wiggle online to try and just buy the Mizuno ones again, they have 17 different varieties of Mizuno Wave trainers for women but not a single one is a Wave Ultima. Do they just do this to make my life hard? Does anyone know what the difference in all these trainers is? Is it just cosmetic? Wiggle online chat person hadn't a clue.

What are you planning on doing in them? That’s the starting point. If running then get to a running shop to have your gait analysed and get recommendations. Other sports will have different shoes that are most suitable - tennis or weightlifting for example.

What do you want to do in them? Work it back from there!

And if you are wedded to the Mizunas try a different website? Not too tricky www.sportsshoes.com/products/?q=%7BMizuno+Wave+Ultima+10%7D&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIm-j03qWC4AIVbpPtCh3qzwvVEAAYASAAEgJinvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I run in them, up to 1/2 marathon but usually shorter.
I know I can get them elsewhere, I'm a big fan of wiggle though. Their customer service is fab.

I was mainly posting because I am so amazed there are so many variations in the wave trainer. Who would have thought? Do all these tiny variations really make such a difference? It's slightly blown my mind tonight. Maybe I could knock minutes off my pb if I wear mizuno Ultima rider 21 instead of Mizuno Ultima wave 9.

I usually do buy my trainers from a proper running shop, I'm a neutral runner. I got the new balance ones from a decent sports shop but I don't really like them. Stupid decision. Even as I was buying them I suspected they were not quite right but I bought them anyway. Then I ran outside in the mud in them before deciding I really didn't like them so I can't take them back. I thought I would just buy the exact same ones as last time online to save me a big trip to town to the sports shop again.

That's because they are selling road shoes of various levels of cushioning, cushioned shoe, light weight shoes, performance shoes and a couple of types of trail shoe, all in both neutral and supportive. Chuck in the past two releases of those, and a have different name for knitted uppers, and it adds up to the Wiggle page.

I like Wave Riders - such a classic that it's now up to its 23rd release. Wiggle are however selling 21s and 22s.
