Marathon Relay

I'm considering signing up for a marathon relay with another runner; we'd completing a half marathon each and we run at a similar pace currently. Does anyone know how this works (as in, how is it timed, how do you pick up your leg, etc.,)? The website doesn't have much info. We've both recently completed a half marathon.

I did a Half Marathon earlier this year which could be run as a relay. The way it worked there was that they had a funnel with timing mats at each handover point, so it clocked one in and one out of the pen, marrying you up as a team by your race numbers, so there was an individual time for your leg and your team total.

I think they also had a separate bag drop for those doing the relay, so it was taken from your start to your finish. Might be worth emailing the organisers about that so you know what that'll be providing and can plan kit accordingly

AuntieStellar thanks for your reply, it's good to know that process for the handover. That's a really good point about bag drop / kit too. I'm hoping it shouldn't be too much of an issue as my leg will start in my home town but I'll let the other runners know.
