Lack of motivation to exercise

I’m slowly losing the motivation to keep up with my exercise plan.

I do visit a local gym once or twice a week to use the machines and participate in classes as well. But I have been struggling lately with coursework etc. My question is whether or not I should cancel the membership or not? I’ve had this problem before last year around this time too. My partner recommended pushing on.

When I first started post pregnancy fitness four weeks post pregnancy I mainly just borrowed some free post pregnancy workout DVDs from a local library. I did the exercises at home gently. It sort of helped. Also YouTube videos. I was still healing at the time.

Can you vary your routine? Try new classes? Go at a different time of day?

Hmm, is there a particular class you enjoy or fancy trying? I find it helps when my exercise is diarised (so x class on Thursday at y time). Then it's in my calendar, and it's just another appointment to keep (and work the rest of my day around).

Also going with someone else helps the motivation too.

Thanks. My local gym offers a number of classes. Perhaps finding out about other options might also help me. What classes do you guys attend?

You need to find something you enjoy to be honest.

I do aerial silks and I really look forward to each class. I adore it, never have to push myself to go, infact I actively tailor my life to fit as many classes in as possible. This then transfers on to me doing stretchy and body weight workouts at home because I want to be more flexible and stronger to be better at it!

Its a bit different but the changes to my body are incredible and I just love it. Apart from horse riding I’ve never enjoyed or stuck to any other form of exercise.

@Foreverlexicon I do pole fitness, like you it's the only thing I've really stuck to. I love progressing and it's really improved my muscle tone. And like silks, some of the moves can look very impressive.
