Monthly mile challenge

Hi all
Im going to set myself a monthly mile target and wondered if anyone fancied joining me (in the hope to keep me motivated) as between 4 kids, work and daily running of the home it's easy to just stay home.
I've just started c25k again and have been swimming a few times so I'm back at the beginning again

I'm a fellow mum of 4. Back to school today (yey!) So I'm looking forward to upping my milage.

How is C25K going? What week are you on?

I did C25K in April and since then have been doing a daily run - at least 5k, 10k a few times a week (in term time). I've just been doing a daily 5k over the 6 weeks holiday though. Hoping to get my weekly total over 40km from next week, working back up to 50km a week where I was in July.

All this started with me making a pledge to walk 100 miles in March. I did around 3.5 miles a day with my dog, about 5-6km. Then I progressed from there.

Good luck!

It's going well thanks. Just about to start week 2. I got all the way to week 8 last time then injured my and then never got back round to doing it. Going to try get out tomo night.
I haven't really worked out how many miles to aim for yet maybe I should try 100 miles then see how it goes.

Well done on restarting C25K. It's a fantastic program. There is a support thread on the exercise board for those doing the program, it might be good motivation for you?

If it's milage you're looking for, could you add in long walks on the days you don't do C25K? You're likely to cover about 2-3 km (ish) in the first 7 weeks of C25K. That's 3 times a week of about 1.5 miles. So you'll need a good 4-5 mile walk on the other days to do enough miles for 109 miles in a month.

Are you getting some bling for it? There are loads of virtual running companies who advertise medals for miles per month - 25/50/100/150 etc. You can aim for whatever you think appropriate and signing up for a medal helps to keep you motivated to complete it.

I've got a 10k run planned for this morning. My first in a while.

My children are nearly 14, 13, 9 and 4. Youngest is mornings at nursery, the others school. How old are yours?

Mileage isn't to bad I walk the dogs daily but 1 has loose knee caps and can't manage long walks anymore. I swim once a week and aim to increase my lengths each time.
My kids are 11, 10, 6 and 2.
Didn't get out for run tonight, new boiler was due to be fitted but had problems and not yet fitted so sort of turned my afternoon upside down.
Swim tomo night tho and run on sat

How did your 10k go?

Lovely 10k this morning. 58 minutes (with my dog, which always slows me down), which is a decent pace for me.

It was so nice to do a longer run that I'd quite like to do another 10k tomorrow morning. But alas, life gets in the way. I have to do the grocery shop while youngest is at nursery, so a 5km run is all I'll have time for tomorrow.

I hope your boiler gets fixed soon. It's just got cooler here where I am, so not a great time to be without a boiler.

Enjoy your swim tomorrow!
