Following a macros diet and running, without signing up to a paid plan

Probably if you’re a member of a Facebook running group you'll have come across the paid up plan where you follow a macros diet and exercise plan. I know it’s not lots per month but I’d rather figure it out myself (perhaps I have trust issues!) and save my money to go toward race entrance fees and running kit.

I was wondering if anyone has any book or website recommendations as a good place to start. I’m assuming the my fitness pal app would be useful?

I think you're request there is a bit vague. What, specifically, are you looking to achieve?

In terms of running - what can you do now? Are you looking to increase distance (up to what?)? Or improve your speed over a set distance (what distance?)

In terms of diet - are you aiming to lose weight / fat? (If so, how much and are you currently overweight or with a healthy BMI?) Or just to tone and build your running muscles?

In terms of fitness - what are you like with hills? How are you with intense speed? What's your stamina like? What are you aiming to improve?
