Online (free?) workouts for total beginner?

Have determined to start some kind of exercise routine but at the moment can't face going to the gym due to my weight. Feel too embarrassed to join classes etc so I'd like to do something at home.

My super fit SIL does a lot of online programs on a mat but beyond that I know nothing else about them and feel silly asking her.

Any recommendations???

There's a YouTube channel called FitnessBlender which has loads of different workouts, of various types, and lengths and level of effort.

Have a browse - you'll probably find something in there that you like the look of.

Congratulations Baby! I’ve not got on with YouTube videos-too likely to be disturbed after bedtime:-). There’s a lot of us round here that would recommend C25k - all shapes and sizes!

Once you’ve made that step, you will be amazed how supportive people can be. I’ve had encouragement from colleagues, school gate mums, random encounters at the local shop!

I don’t know your relationship with SIL but she might surprise you;-)

Good luck 😉

Thanks squiggletea. Unfortunately in my last attempt of the couch to 5k, I got loads of abuse and on my last run got followed by two teens on bikes who were awful. I just can't bear being punchline of someone's joke so I think I'll keep it indoors. Thanks though!

That's awful OP. I am Angry on your behalf about those horrible teens!

Have you tried the Jillian Michaels Shred dvd? Not easy but effective - just work at your own pace - and only a few £ on Amazon.

If you like running could you go to a Parkrun? Very supportive community and more encouraging than running on your own. Or local Health walks, again for mutual support?

Also try Moms into Fitness on YouTube. She has some good workouts (beginner and advanced) and all free!

That is so not fair. You haven’t let it stop you, you deserve to be successful.

What has kept me hooked has been the runner’s high. Hold on to your reasons-you’re worth it!

There's a great lady called Lucy Wyndham-Read on YouTube. She has a whole range of fitness stuff and definitely something for everyone. Good luck

Definitely recommend fitness blender! You can adjust times, equipment, area to focus on etc they have LOADS of videos too (use the website not YouTube to filter). Use myfitnesspal to monitor exercise/diet too, that helps.you stay accountable - good luck!

Hi.
I've been doing Pop Sugar workouts on YouTube for a while. I love them. All sorts of exercise/lengths/things to focus on. There are loads to choose from.
I've got about 4 I really like and do in rotation. I've really seen a huge difference in terms of stamina, strength, and body shape.
