Flat feet

Hi,

Could anyone recommend the best running trainers for flat feet?

I've had a gait analysis before and the trainers I bought don't really seem to be helping anymore. I don't feel they're supportive. I'm not sure what the right trainers should feel like but I'm presume like they are supportive my arch and comfortable?

How old are your trainers? More specifically, how many miles or km have you done in them?

They're probably only a year old and only done around 10-15k per week in them.

Ok, at best that’s 520km and at worst it’s 780km (or 500 miles).
That’s as much (more than) you’ll get out of a running shoe - you need new ones (and probably another gait analysis).

Thanks for the advice, I thought running trainers would last longer than that.

No, unfortunately not - despite the fact they cost enough. Also, I bet the sole looks fine as well. But they’ve lost their support now so if you keep running in them you’ll start to get niggly injuries. It’s all a factor of how heavy you are and what surface you tend to run on. I’d say you’ve done well to get them that far so I’d guess you are a light runner who runs on grass.
Well done for a consistent 10-15k a week.
