Running shorts for the chunky of thigh?

I like to run in leggings below the knee but they are too hot in the summer. If like to wear looser, or shorter, shorts but I find they ride up or dig in or are so short my thighs rub together.
What short things do you run in?

I have Ronhill twin shorts, there is a loose over short and then a longer one underneath. Otherwise there would be unpleasant rubbing! I think quite a few makes do these, such as Decathlon.

Are the leggings you currently use running leggings or normal leggings? I run in these:

and definitely don't feel too hot in them, even on a boiling day or after a 10k run.

The ronhill ones are great as they have a longer layer under a shorter layer. Unlike others I have tried the top layer is split at the sides so they are less restrictive. Expensive though.

I wear bloke shorts (got mine in a charity shop), the ones that come with pockets & aren't designed to give you a wedgies? Sports Direct will have huge selection to try on, lots of sizes.

Have you considered a skort? I find mine more comfortable than shorts.
