Does anyone wear a watch that does sleep tracking? Am I abnormal?

Hello

I've recently bought a new running watch that seems to track everything. It tracks sleep too. It seems I don't really do deep sleep much (just over 1 hour is the norm) and the activity monitor shows I'm busy moving about all night. The consequence of this is that it says I get 'almost no restful moments' (in 24 hours) and that I'm at risk of exhaustion. The nights where I do get a lot of deep sleep, which seems to be once a week, it says I get enough restful moments.

I was wondering whether the lack of deep sleep has anything to do with my persistent recurring mental health problems, and so I'd like to know if my kind of sleep pattern is normal or not!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo I know it's impossible, I was just trying to demonstrate that I don't think they are that accurate.

I think I must just sleep very soundly with very little movement for the tracker to come to that conclusion (or mine is crap).

Yes I do feel different on the 'rested' days.

I usually wake up (properly, as in time to get up not the umpteen times I wake during the night anyway) as a sweaty, bedclothes all over the place, hair matted mess from my night time athletics. When I'm not like that I feel like a new woman.

And I've noticed that my behaviour changes if I have very little actual sleep...can't concentrate, make terrible faux pas at my voluntary job whilst not actually giving a shit about the fact I'm being terribly rude.

Mine never counts ‘rest’ as sleep... maybe I’m just never still! When I’m awake for 3-4 hour stretches at night it counts it as being awake. It’s never said I’m asleep when watching TV etc either. I think I wriggle too much.

Ahh!! Yes I understand now Elz!

I wear a Garmin vivofit.

I am pleased to report less pink stripes since the toddler likes sleeping more. It's still not flat deep sleep though, I must be a fidget!
