Do exercise videos really work?

I have four JM dads and never really finished them because I am sceptical however I am off to the beach in 3 weeks and wish to tone.

I am going to rotate through each DVD so I don't get bored for the next three weeks but is it really worth it?

Anyone got any positive stories to share?

DVDs not dads.

Jillian Michaels definitely works if you do them properly and often enough!

When do you start noticing a difference?

Definitely. I can’t afford a gym so I’ve been doing home dvds solidly for 3 months now. I noticed a difference in stamina within a week and I noticed changes to my stomach within 2 weeks.

I am a size 10 though so no weight to lose (other than a bit of muffin top)

Size 6 - 8 here but under 5 foot. Spend around 8 -10 hours sat down with work so very spongy. Cellulite even on calves and arms. I'll keep at it.

I did JM 30 day shred for 11 days in a row without a break (before a holiday) I lost 2 inches off my hips and 1 inch off my waist and my legs looked more toned! It does work so keep doing it :) I just found it boring and didn't get back into it after my holiday

SkiGirl007 · 14/05/2018 21:31

Yep I did Shred 3x a week for 9mths on maternity leave and lost 40lbs and was very toned. Loved it. Then went back to work & sat on my bum 8hrs a day & slowly undid a lot of my hard work!

IcelandicWarriors · 15/05/2018 22:10

So bored. In 10 days have done 7 mile hike and 6 dvds. Due on so just looked bloated so have lost my mojo. Been a bit slack on dvds! Doing 5k and shred tomorrow.

Put into YouTube “hiit workout”, there are loads. The body coach and fitness blender have lots of good workouts

As well as the 30 day shred (which I just found annoying)

Fitness blender on you tube is awesome.

Les mills app is also much more fun once you have a reasonable level of fitness. But it is a subscription and you need a barbell and a few handweights (probably a 3kg and 2 kg) to do the bodypump and a step to do the bodystep. The body combat and thebody attack is usually weight free. But the music is good the the instructors are fun and so very into it!
