We're a SW London based team of recreational runners doing the London to Cardiff 24 relay race. Teams of up to 12 runners work together to cover 160 miles in a maximum of 33 hours. It's great fun and this is the fourth time we've entered a team.
Unfortunately several people have managed to pick up injuries recently and we're really struggling to fill a team this year.
We've tried reaching out to friends and family and local running groups, but so far no luck.
Let us know if you're a regular runner who can cover at least 2 X 10 k within 33 hours and isn't afraid of being cramped into a minibus for extended periods.
I'll post a link to the race website below, but here a few more details:
- the race takes place on the 1 and 2nd of June
- we start mid-day on Friday in Twickenham and return late on Saturday
- the team is off mixed ability and the stages vary between 3 and 13 miles, so we can accommodate champion marathoners as well as weekend runners
- the entry fee is 80 pounds, but the minibus will be paid for by us. If the entry fee is a problem for you we can definitely chip in to cover it
- we're all really nice and friendly people and there will be an abundance of snacks available
Anyone up for a new challenge?
