Exercise to tone c section stomach

I've lost some weight and am now happy with my weight. 9 stone and 5ft 2. But I still have belly overhang from c sections many years ago. What is best way to tone up? I'm not a member of a gym. Thanks

First see if you have diastasis recti, if you do there are lots of exercises to avoid, lots of info online about it.

Well done! 12 years on though and I realise surgery would be the only way for me as it is excess skin, having tried diet and toning previously.

Dozer how would i know? I've had 2 c sections.

There is a simple test you can do yourself - videos online.

How long ago were the CSecs? Diastasis recti is only likely to be an issue in the immediate post natal week/months and it sounds as if you are some time beyond that.

Exercise won't really spot reduce, but working on your abs generally (particularly lateral abs) might improve tummy area. Also massage - may or may not actually help, but won't harm and is nice to do on the offchance.

Pilates is amazing for your tummy

Dozer · 04/04/2018 08:30

That’s not the case stella, many people have it long term.

C sections were almost 7 years ago and ten years ago.

It's hard, I exercise daily for about an hour, a mix of cardio and weights, and I am a 10/12. I've been a small ten and although it shrinks it's never really gone away. Due to some medical complications I was cut hip bone to hip bone, however I carry my weight on my tummy, so have some extra fat there.

I have no feelings there, at all, and I suspect I'd have to get very low body weight to get rid of it. It's also wher I have my stretch marks from being pregnant ( currently excaberated by some fake tan that I am about to shower off). I'm 49 and I had my daughter at 28.

Here's a pic as it's interesting to see others. I think for a lot of people it's also to do with body type.

Exercising for an hour a day is very impressive!

Not really, you kind of get used to it. I think the point is, and I'm sorry to be depressive, but you can tone up the rest of your tummy but for some folks you'll always have the over hang.

My underwear generally covers mine, I honestly wouldn't be self conscious about it, for me I consider it a badge I gained having my daughter, on my good days,,on the bad ones I think ffs. 😁
