I have toned up a fair bit though.

I've been going up to 4 times a week. 1 class a week the rest either treadmill/bike/crosstrainer and weights. I'm loving it.

It's the first gym I've liked. It's huge and airy plus I live the sauna.

I did think I might have lost some weight but am still happy as my body shape has changed. My stomach is my main problem but is smaller now.

I've cut down portions and am generally eating healthier.

I do need to lose a couple of stone so will have to try something else as well?

It can take a while to show as losses.
Just keep going with it and make sure you arent accidentally eating more to make up for your workouts.
i use Tanita analysis scales at home which show body fat / muscle / bone density/water. it's much easier to see that (for example) while ive put on 1lb it was all muscle and actually body fat is down 2lbs. so the weight you see would be irrelevant.
if your shape is changing thats all the matters. ignore the weight - at my ideal weight is probably be 3-4kg heavier than I am now but less fat.

If you want to lose a couple of stone then you're probably going to have to look at some fairly serious dietary changes.

Weight loss is essentially down to having a calorie deficit. Over the course of a week, going to the gym 4 times might make a difference of say 800 calories. That's 114 cal a day- which is less than a bag of crisps.

It's great that you're enjoying the gym, and going will be giving you loads of health benefits, but it sounds like you have only reached the point where you're maintaining your weight, rather than seeing any losses.

If you're serious about losing some weight then I would start with a food diary- eat as you have been doing and work out the calories in for a week. Then estimate the calories your expended with your basal metabolic rate + any physical activity that you've done. You'll probably find that there still isn't a huge difference between the two.

There are lots of different ways to reduce your calories in- setting yourself a daily limit, different kinds of fasting, low carb diets etc but initially you'll probably need to make some big changes in order to really kick start some weight loss.

Good luck!

You sound like you're doing just fine esp if you've already seen your body shape change after just 4 weeks of exercise and dietary changes.
I'd say that's quite fast. Wish I could slim down that quick!

It’s 80%diet & 20%gym
Sounds like the gym is starting to work so maybe look at your diet for reducing the weight

Have you tried spin and pump? They are great classes to help with weight reduction
